A Weekend in Kakheti Wine Country
Two days of qvevri cellars, hilltop towns and long lunches.

Day one: drive over the Gombori pass to Telavi, visit Tsinandali estate and taste amber wines at a family cellar. Sleep in Sighnaghi.
Day two: sunrise on the city walls, Bodbe Monastery, then a slow lunch with a view of the Alazani valley before heading back to Tbilisi.
Tip: harvest season (rtveli) in September and October lets you join the grape picking and qvevri filling.
